Melina Breitegger

I am a Marie Curie fellow based at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. My research investigates the role of regional powers in international organizations. More specifically I am interested in comparing South Africa’s and Brazil’s involvement in the global poverty debate.

I hold a MA in Political Science, a Diploma in Social Anthropology and a Bachelor degree in Communication Science, all awarded by the University of Vienna. During my academic education I specialized in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney, Australia and spent an exchange semester at the Université Paris 13 in France. Prior to taking up the position within the PRIMO project I worked for the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Ispra, Italy.
